 BMW 3-Series Headlights

It seems to be possible to fit the headlights from the mid 1990's BMW 3-Series onto a 3rd Generation Nissan Maxima. There is one person who has done this conversion.

I had access to a BMW M3 during the winter so I took some measurements and pictures of its headlights. I don't yet have measurements for the Maxima, but it looks like it might be an easy fit.

The dimensions are 13 1/4" wide at both the top and bottom, and 4 1/4" tall at both ends. The width seems comparable to the Maxima's, but I think the BMW lights are a little shorter. They might require a small piece of plastic or rubber to fill in the extra space.

Inside, the BMW lights are drastically different. They aren't as deep as the Maxima lights (which will give more room in the engine compartment) and they require two bulbs instead of one. Consequentially, the stock wiring harness will have to be split so that power can be run to both bulbs.

From the outside you can see that these lights have a clear outer lense, and a seperate lense and reflector for each bulb.
